KING ROTATING SLIDE SHELF

Rotating pull out shelf for existing racking.

King Rotating Slide Shelf

The King Rotating Slide Shelf (Rack) is specially designed to allow stock pickers working on the first level of pallet racking, to be able to get at those products that are at the rear of the pallet.

To date, stock picker operators have had to lean in and pull the carton or product to the front. Leaning in up to 1 Mtr from the stock picker is a recipe for aching backs and strains, plus the operator is forced out of their safety and comfort zones.

Now, with the King Rotating Slide Shelf installed, the operator removes cartons from the front rows only, then simply unlatches the slide shelf, pulls the shelf and pallet out, rotates the pallet - bringing the rear cartons to the front - then slides the rack back into place where it is latched and safe.

A load up to 500 Kgs (1125 lbs) is easily and safely rotated using the King Rotating Slide Shelf. There is no longer any excuse to risk stock picking operators' health and safety.

Warehouses have been screaming out for someone to solve this problem, as they waste time, cope with strains, injuries, risk of falling and ever increasing insurance premiums. Now the problem has been solved with the King Rotating Slide Shelf.

What you see in the video above and still pictures is the prototype. It was developed for an international company that has scoured the world looking to solve a problem that started when stock pickers were first introduced. This company admits to spending over 10 million dollars every year on this problem alone in all of it's warehouses.

The problem has now been solved, designed, fabricated and tested. It performs brilliantly. A patent is pending, relating to the clever design and locking system.

Every business that picks stock from the second level using a stock picker, needs the King Rotating Slide Shelf.

Notes

The racking beams used for the King Rotating Slide Shelf need to be a minimum of 140mm x 50mm (5.5" x 2"). They also need to be bolted to the uprights. The slide shelf is approx. 180mm (7") high. International protocol dictates that there must be a minimum of 300mm (12") between the top of the load and the underside of the racking beam above it.

King can also supply specially fabricated high strength beams, fitted with extra long end angles if your racking supplier can't help. You need to ensure that the uprights are capable of accepting the cantilevered load.

2600mm (102") long (140 x 50mm) beams can hold two pallets side by side, and have 3600 Kgs (8,100 lbs) of capacity, but the maximum load weight of each pallet before it is rotated, must not exceed 500 Kgs (1125 lbs). So if you have a pallet weighing 1 tonne and you remove the front half of the load, it is safe to pull out and rotate the remaining 500 Kgs of load. If the full pallet weight is 1500 Kgs, then approx. 2/3 rds must be removed from the front, before rotating the pallet.

To ensure your complete safety, before you purchase, we need to speak to your racking supplier to ensure your racking system is suited to accepting the King Rotating Slide Shelf.

Uprights must be bolted down. Confirmation of the strength of the existing system, and it's ability to accommodate the slide shelf/s must come from a suitably qualified person in writing.

Toughened steel 'U' Bolts are supplied in the kit, to attach the frame to the beams.

With 500 Kgs of load fully extended, the deflection is approx. 2mm. Precision bearings ensure complete ease of movement in and out, with very little effort. The pallet is locked in place when not sliding. When two slide shelves are fitted to the same beams, only one can be pulled out at a time, due to a special interlock mechanism.

Don't forget that King also supplies a ground level sliding system along with a rotating pallet option.
